Bio
I´m a self-taught photographer from Madrid. Since my adolescence I have always loved photography, and any kind of special images and landscapes that came to my mind, what it made me dream of proyecting them.
However after viewing "Invisible Man" by Jeff Wall in 2001, I definitely decided to immerse myself deeper into the photographic journey. Currently I live between Berlin and Rome.
I consider most of my projects to fall within the realm of documentary photography, in which I explore social and political transformations and their impact on urban landscapes, but I have also experimented with light reflecting off window surfaces, developing a concept centred on the idea of ‘borders and journeys’.
Some of my works include ‘Disappearing Shanghai’, which depicts the Chinese government’s long-running demolition of old town centres to rebuild China’s modern cities, with the tragedy of millions of people forcibly displaced, and ‘A Long Walk Home’, which addresses the current political situation of Maasai communities in northern Tanzania, who are also being forcibly evicted by paramilitary groups and the government, to use for comercial purposes the ancestral land of the Maasai people.
